Welcome Email Customization
Every user who is invited to the portal receives a welcome email. The subject and first line of the body of this email can be easily customized.

- How to customize the subject line of the portal welcome email
- How to customize the first line of the body of the portal welcome email
- How to send yourself a test email to review the customization
- How to remove the customization and return to the default values of the portal welcome email
ACCESS WELCOME EMAIL CUSTOMIZATION SETTINGS
Your Welcome Email can be customized through the Portal Settings page. To access the Portal Settings page, click the drop-down menu on the left and select the Portal Administration link (Fig. 1).

From the Portal Administration page, select the Portal Settings card (Fig. 2).
From the Portal Settings page, click on the Email Customization tab (Fig. 3).

The Email Customization Editor (Fig. 4.) will then be displayed.
CUSTOMIZE THE SUBJECT LINE OF THE PORTAL WELCOME EMAIL
The default value of the portal welcome email's subject line is " Welcome to {{PORTAL_DISPLAY_NAME}}." The variable {{PORTAL_DISPLAY_NAME}} will show the display name of your portal as it was defined in the General Settings. You can also use the variable {{PORTAL_NAME}} as defined in General Settings. If you choose to use either variable, the name must not be changed, and it must remain enclosed in double braces or it will not display properly in the email.
To change the subject line, simply click in the first field and type or paste new text, then click the green Save button that appears below the second field (Fig. 5).

CUSTOMIZE THE FIRST LINE OF THE BODY OF THE PORTAL WELCOME EMAIL
The default value of the portal welcome email's first line is " You have been added as a user to {{PORTAL_DISPLAY_NAME}}." The variable {{PORTAL_DISPLAY_NAME}} will show the display name of your portal as it was defined in the General Settings. You can also use the variable {{PORTAL_NAME}} as defined in General Settings. If you choose to use either variable, the name must not be changed, and it must remain enclosed in double braces or it will not display properly in the email.
To change the first line of the welcome email, simply click in the second field and type or paste new text, then click the green Save button that appears below the second field (Fig. 5).
SEND YOURSELF A TEST EMAIL
To see how your customized email will appear, you can send yourself a test email by clicking the Send Email button (Fig. 6). The test email will be sent to the address you used to create your portal login.

RESTORE THE DEFAULT VALUES OF THE PORTAL WELCOME EMAIL
To restore the default values of the portal welcome email, delete the custom text that was added to the fields — the default text will then reappear — and click the green Save button (Fig. 5).
