Adding and Managing Body Widgets

Easily customize your Homepage or Module Catalog page layout by adding body widgets. Widget types include:

  • LMS Modules widget (available with the Konvert™ Learning Management System)
  • LMS Categories widget (available with the Konvert™ Learning Management System)
  • LMS Search widget (available with the Konvert™ Learning Management System)
  • DAM Assets widget (Homepage only) (available with the Konvert™ Digital Asset Management Platform)
  • Links widget

ACCESS THE HOMEPAGE OR MODULE CATALOG EDITOR

To access the Homepage or Module Catalog page editor, navigate to either page and click the Edit Mode toggle (Fig. 1) in the top-right corner. Once in edit mode, you can add widgets, edit widgets, publish and unpublish widgets, reorder widgets and delete widgets.

ADD A BODY WIDGET

To add a body widget to your Homepage or Module Catalog page layout, enable edit mode by clicking the Edit Mode toggle (Fig. 1) in the top-right corner of the homepage. Once in edit mode, click the Add Body Widget button (Fig. 2) to add a body widget.

After clicking the Add Body Widget button (Fig. 2), a New Widget screen (Fig. 3) will appear. Select your preferred widget type from the Select a New Widget drop-down menu and complete the required fields.

ADD AND EDIT AN LMS MODULES WIDGET

The LMS Modules widget (Fig. 4) displays the modules available to a user. The modules can be displayed in:

  • Grid View: When displayed in grid view, (Fig. 4) the modules are displayed as cards and the user can scroll horizontally to view all modules. 
  • List View: When displayed in list view (Fig. 5), only the module's title and subtitle are shown and the user can scroll vertically to view all modules. 

The View All button will take the user to the Module Catalog page where they can view all enrolled modules and available modules.

Add an LMS Modules Widget: To add an LMS Modules widget, click the Add Body Widget button (Fig. 2). Select LMS Modules from the Select a New Widget drop-down menu. Complete the following LMS Modules widget fields (Fig. 6):

  • Title: Enter the preferred widget title. The default title for this widget is Learning Modules. 
  • Modules to Display: Select the type of modules to display.
    • Show Enrolled Modules displays all incomplete and complete enrolled modules in the order they appear in the module catalog.
    • Show Incomplete Enrolled Modules displays all incomplete enrolled modules in the order they appear in the module catalog. Once a module has been completed, it will no longer display on the Homepage or Module Catalog page, but can be accessed in the module catalog. 
    • Show Available Modules displays all of the modules available for open enrollment in the order they appear in the module catalog. 
  • Show Modules from Category/Categories: Optionally display Categories of modules available to users.
  • Modules to Display: Select the type of modules to display.

Click the Save button and your LMS Modules widget will appear on the Homepage or Module Catalog page.

Edit an LMS Modules Widget: To edit an LMS Modules widget, enable edit mode by clicking the Edit Mode toggle (Fig. 1) in the top-right corner of the Homepage or Module Catalog page. Once in edit mode, click the pencil icon (Fig. 7) above the top-right corner of the widget you would like to edit. Modify the fields as needed and click the Save button.

ADD AND EDIT AN LMS CATEGORIES WIDGET

The LMS Categories widget (Fig. 8) displays the Categories of LMS modules available to a user. The categories can be displayed in:

  • Grid View: When displayed in grid view, (Fig. 8) the categories are displayed as cards and the user can scroll horizontally to view all modules. 
  • List View: When displayed in list view (Fig. 9), only the category's title and subtitle are shown and the user can scroll vertically to view all modules. 

The View All button will take the user to the LMS Categories page where they can view all active categories.

Add an LMS Categories Widget: To add an LMS Categories widget, click the Add Body Widget button (Fig. 2). Select LMS Categories from the Select a New Widget drop-down menu. Complete the following LMS Categories widget fields (Fig. 10):

  • Title: Enter the preferred widget title. The default title for this widget is Learning Categories. 
  • Select Categories to Show: Choose which categories will be displayed to users.
  • Display Type: Display the categories in grid view or list view. 

Click the Save button and your LMS Categories widget will appear on the Homepage or Module Catalog page.

Edit an LMS Categories Widget: To edit an LMS Categories widget, enable edit mode by clicking the Edit Mode toggle (Fig. 1) in the top-right corner of the Homepage or Module Catalog page. Once in edit mode, click the pencil icon (Fig. 7) above the top-right corner of the widget you would like to edit. Modify the fields as needed and click the Save button.



ADD AND EDIT AN LMS SEARCH WIDGET

Add an LMS Search Widget: To add an LMS Search widget, click the Add Body Widget button (Fig. 2). Select LMS Search from the Select a New Widget drop-down menu. Complete the following LMS Search widget field (Fig. 11):

  • Title: Enter the preferred widget title. The default value is blank (the widget will appear without a title).

Click the Save button and your LMS Categories widget will appear on the Homepage or Module Catalog page.

The LMS Search widget allows users to search for LMS Modules by title and keywords, as defined in the Module Settings.


Edit an LMS Search Widget: To edit an LMS Search widget, enable edit mode by clicking the Edit Mode toggle (Fig. 1) in the top-right corner of the Homepage or Module Catalog page. Once in edit mode, click the pencil icon (Fig. 7) above the top-right corner of the widget you would like to edit. Modify the fields as needed and click the Save button.


ADD AND EDIT A DAM ASSETS WIDGET

NOTE: The DAM Assets widget is only available on the Homepage, not the Module Catalog page.

The DAM Assets widget (Fig. 8) displays your digital asset library's assets in the following views:

  • Featured Categories: When displayed in the Featured Categories view (Fig. 8), the user will see the four featured category cards, if the user has access to assets in those categories.
  • Most Recent Files: When displayed in the Most Recent Files view (Fig. 9), the user will see up to four of the most recent files that they have access to. 
  • Most Popular (Past 30 Days): When displayed in the Most Popular (Past 30 Days) view, the user will see up to four of the most popular files that they have access to. 
  • Most Popular (Past Year): When displayed in the Most Popular (Past Year) view, the user will see up to four of the most popular files that they have access to. 

The View All button will take the user to the Digital Asset Library landing page.

Add a DAM Assets Widget: To add a DAM Assets widget, click the Add Body Widget button (Fig. 2). Select DAM Assets from the Select a New Widget drop-down menu. Complete the following DAM Assets widget fields (Fig. 10):

  • Title: Enter the preferred widget title. The default title for this widget is Digital Assets. 
  • Display Type: Select if you want the modules to display in the Featured Categories view, Most Recent Files view, Most Popular (Past 30 Days) view or Most Popular (Past Year) view.

Click the Save button and your DAM Assets widget will appear on the Homepage or Module Catalog page.

Edit a DAM Assets Widget: To edit a DAM Assets widget, enable edit mode by clicking the Edit Mode toggle (Fig. 1) in the top-right corner of the Homepage (this widget is not available on the Module Catalog page). Once in edit mode, click the pencil icon (Fig. 7) above the top-right corner of the widget you would like to edit. Modify the fields as needed and click the Save button.


ADD AND EDIT A LINKS WIDGET

The Links widget (Fig. 11) displays customized cards that can link to internal or external URLs. To learn more about creating and adding custom link cards to your homepage, visit the Adding and Managing Homepage Links article.

Add a Links Widget: To add a Links widget, click the Add Body Widget button (Fig. 2). Select Links from the Select a New Widget drop-down menu. Complete the following Links widget fields (Fig. 12):

  • Title: Enter the preferred widget title. The default title for this widget is Links.

Click the Save button and your Links widget will appear on the Homepage or Module Catalog page.

Edit a Links Widget: To edit a Links widget, enable edit mode by clicking the Edit Mode toggle (Fig. 1) in the top-right corner of the Homepage or Module Catalog page. Once in edit mode, click the pencil icon (Fig. 7) above the top-right corner of widget you would like to edit. Modify the fields as needed and click the Save button.


PUBLISH OR UNPUBLISH A WIDGET

Unpublish a Widget: When a widget is first created, it is published. To unpublish a widget, enable edit mode by clicking the Edit Mode toggle (Fig. 1) in the top-right corner of the Homepage or Module Catalog page. Once in edit mode, click the pencil icon (Fig. 7) above the top-right corner of the widget you would like to unpublish. Click the Unpublish button (Fig. 13) in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Publish a Widget: To publish a widget, enable edit mode by clicking the Edit Mode toggle (Fig. 1) in the top-right corner of the Homepage or Module Catalog page. Once in edit mode, click the pencil icon (Fig. 7) above the top-right corner of the widget you would like to publish. From the widget editor screen, click the Publish button (Fig. 14) in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

REORDER WIDGETS

Body widgets can be reordered in the body section only. To reorder widgets, enable edit mode by clicking the Edit Mode toggle (Fig. 1) in the top-right corner of the homepage. Once in edit mode, click the Reorder Widgets toggle (Fig. 15) in the top-left corner of the Homepage or Module Catalog page. Drag and drop widgets into your preferred order. Turn off the Reorder Widgets toggle once you have finished reordering the widgets.

DELETE A WIDGET

To delete a widget, enable edit mode by clicking the Edit Mode toggle (Fig. 1) in the top-right corner of the Homepage or Module Catalog page. Once in edit mode, click the pencil icon (Fig. 7) above the top-right corner of the widget you would like to delete. From the widget editor screen, click the Delete button (Fig. 16) in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Confirm deletion by clicking the Yes, Delete button.
