Adding and Managing Page Layouts

Looking to create a different Homepage or Module Catalog page layout for a subset of your users? The Konvert™ portal allows for multiple Homepage or Module Catalog page layouts that can be accessed based on user group(s). 

In this article, we will explain:

  • How to access the Page Layouts page
  • How to access and edit Homepage or Module Catalog layout settings
  • How to create a new Homepage or Module Catalog page layout
  • How to edit an existing Homepage or Module Catalog page layout
  • How to publish or unpublish a Homepage or Module Catalog page layout
  • How to delete a Homepage or Module Catalog page layout

ACCESS THE PAGE LAYOUTS PAGE

To access the Page Layouts page (Fig. 1), click the drop-down menu in the top-left corner of the page and select the Portal Administration link (Fig. 2). From the Portal Administration page, click the Page Layouts card (Fig. 3). From the Page Layouts page, you can:

  • View all of your Homepage or Module Catalog page layouts
  • See if a Homepage or Module Catalog page has been published
  • View the Homepage or Module Catalog page priority settings
  • Access Homepage or Module Catalog page layout settings
  • Access the Homepage or Module Catalog page layout widgets
  • Create a new Homepage or Module Catalog page layout

ACCESS AND EDIT PAGE LAYOUTS SETTINGS

From the Page Layouts page (Fig. 1), you can choose to create or edit either the Homepage or Module Catalog page. Once you have selected one or the other on the left side of the page, click the Settings link (Fig. 4) in the Actions column to access the Edit Page Layouts page (Fig. 5). 

From the Edit Page Layouts page, you can edit the:

  • Page Title: The page title is for administrative use only and is not visible to non-admin users. 
  • Group Access: Users in selected groups will be shown this page layout. See Group Access Priority for how multiple matching layouts are handled. If left empty, this layout will be available to all users.
  • Group Access Priority: If a user is in multiple groups and has access to more than one homepage layout (selected under Group Access), the lowest Group Access Priority will be shown to the user. Priority 1 is the highest priority.

You can also access the Edit Page Layout page and settings directly from the Homepage or Module Catalog page. Click the Edit Mode toggle (Fig. 6) in the top-right corner of the page.

Once in edit mode, select the preferred page layout from the Select a Homepage Layout to Edit or Select a Module Catalog Layout to Edit drop-down menu (Fig. 7) and click the Settings button (Fig. 7) located to the right of the drop-down menu. The Settings button will take you to the Edit Page Layout page (Fig. 5) for the selected page layout. If you would like to preview your changes without saving, click the Preview button.

When previewing, a banner and Exit Preview button will be displayed at the top of the page (Fig. 8). When you are done previewing, simply click the Exit Preview button.

CREATE A NEW HOME PAGE OR MODULE CATALOG LAYOUT

To create a new Home Page or Module Catalog layout, navigate to the Page Layouts page (Fig. 1), select Home Page or Module Catalog from the left column, then click the Add Page Layout button (Fig. 9).

From the Add Page Layout page (Fig. 10), enter the:

  • Page Title: The page title is for administrative use only and is not visible to non-admin users. 
  • Group Access: Users in selected groups will be shown this page layout. See Group Access Priority for how multiple matching layouts are handled. If left empty this layout will be available to all users.
  • Group Access Priority: If a user is in multiple groups and has access to more than one page layout (selected under Group Access), the lowest Group Access Priority will be shown to the user. Priority 1 is the highest priority.

Click the Save button near the bottom of the screen. Once saved, you will be directed to the new page layout where you can begin to make edits.

EDIT A PAGE LAYOUT

To edit either the Homepage or Module Catalog page layout, click the Edit Mode toggle (Fig. 6) in the top-right corner of the page. Once in edit mode:


PUBLISH OR UNPUBLISH A PAGE LAYOUT

Publish a Page Layout: When a page layout is first created, it is unpublished. To publish a page layout, navigate to the Edit Page Layout page (Fig. 5) and click the Publish button (Fig. 11) in the bottom-right corner of the page.

Unpublish a Page Layout: To unpublish a page layout, navigate to the Edit Page Layout page (Fig. 5) of any currently published page and click the Unpublish button (Fig. 12) in the bottom-right corner of the page.

DELETE A PAGE LAYOUT

To delete a page layout, navigate to the Edit Page Layout page (Fig. 5) and click the Delete button (Fig. 13) in the bottom-right corner of the page. Confirm deletion by clicking the Yes, Delete button.
